Spiritual Direction
“It cannot be said too often and too firmly that the only true director is the Holy Spirit.
Direction is two people sitting down together in an attitude of prayer to try to discern where the Holy Spirit is directing.”
– Jeff Gorton, Spiritual Direction for Every Christian

– Jeff Gorton, Spiritual Direction for Every Christian
"Spiritual direction is an ongoing relationship in which one person (the directee), who is desirous of being more attentive to his or her spiritual life, meets with another person (spiritual director) on a regular basis for the purpose of experiencing depth and increased trust in God. Spiritual direction involves "teaching people to pray, to discern the presence of grace in events and feelings, affirming the presence of God at the heart of life, sharing a search for light through a dark passage in the pilgrimage, guiding the formation of a self-understanding that is biblically spiritual instead of merely psychological or sociological. It is space to explore the everyday ordinariness for the presence of God and workings of grace (precisely at those times when) nothing seems to be happening."
– Eugene Peterson, pastor and author of the contemporary Bible translation The Message

Labyrinth Walks
“It reminds me of the spacious and timeless experience of walking along an ocean shore – it restores my soul”
The labyrinth provides a space to slow down, breathe and reflect. Unlike a maze – there were no dead ends or things to figure out. Enter the path with an open heart and put one foot in front of the other. The singular path leads to the center. Stay as long as you desire, and then take the same path out. Each time you walk the labyrinth it is a unique experience: you are present to self, God and others.
All Seasons has labyrinth facilitators who offer labyrinth walks throughout the year. We are available to work with individuals to design a labyrinth walk for a specific group or event.

Care Ministry
The Care Ministry is All Season’s on-call means of responding to circumstances requiring compassionate presence, encouragement and prayer. In the event of personal challenge, loss or turmoil, the services of a care minister can provide just the right kind of support to stabilize emotions and encourage thoughtfulness, and to remember that God is not only holy but also Helper, who promises true rest and the surest way through our troubles. Simply put, the aim of spiritual care is to assist an individual to connect and commune with God for stability and hope. Jesus Christ’s invitation and promise is the heart of Care Ministry: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 ESV)

2. What is the Role of a Care Minister?
The Care Minister’s (CM) primary role is to support Individuals as they navigate personal circumstances, primarily through healthy and holy conversation, an attentive ear, encouragement from God’s word, and prayer. In the context of this compassionate support, individuals are better able to make decisions regarding their circumstances, including further counseling or spiritual direction.

3. What Can You Expect from A Care Minister?
- Presence. Meeting on site is ideal, so the CM will endeavor to meet you “where you are,” and in most locations in and around King County; your residence, place of work, and public spaces such as a coffee shop or restaurant are typical.
- Encouragement. It’s often the faith of a friend that can buoy our own spirit and reinforce our patience and hope. As you tend to your circumstances, the CM will be present to encourage in simple and helpful ways.
- Prayer. We believe that this is an indispensible facet of the Care Ministry. When appropriate, prayer will be offered as a means of infusing dynamic strength and clarity into your life and circumstances. The CM will always use discretion. If you are interested in learning about prayer, the CM would be glad to introduce you to this wonderful source of wisdom and strength.
- Duration. The frequency and duration of your meetings are determined together with the CM. Depending upon your needs, your relationship will last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. For example, the urgency of some circumstances call for weekly meetings over a months’ time. Other situations will allow for a more relaxed pace; semi-monthly meetings over two to three months might be appropriate.
- Level of contact. Your communication with a CM is more flexible than what one might expect with a therapist or spiritual director. It is unique in that electronic communication is allowed because of its capacity to provide the kind of presence that is at the heart of the Care Ministry.
- Fees. There are no fees for the services of a Care Minister. Donations made to All Seasons in the name of a CM will be added to their account.
Consider Requesting Time with a Care Minister if you are:
- Seeking meaningful short-term conversation for spiritual strengthening and revitalization.
- Facing a challenging circumstance and would like to speak with someone about spiritual matters on a non-therapeutic basis.
